Go Team 3162!!!
RoBoComm-X is open to young girls and boys in grades nine through twelve at Rochester School for
the Deaf (RSD) and Rochester After School Academy at RSD (RASA@RSD).
Currently, the RoBoComm-X team includes 15+ students. These students will develop a robot that is capable of playing a "game" in
competition, learn business skills, and compete to earn scholarships, while having a great time. The team is assisted by teachers
and adult mentors from the community.
RoBoComm-X went to Kodak Theatre on the Ridge on January 9, 2010 to acquire a packet of materials, including an explanation
of the game their robot will play, a set of rules, and a package of parts for their robot. The team has only six weeks to design, build and
train their robot to play the game. Clicking on this link will take
you to latest information on this year's game. From January to February, RoBoComm-X met on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays to build the robot at Bausch + Lomb facility.
Those activities culminate in a competition at Rochester Institute of Technology on
March 4 - 6 where RoBoComm-X will compete against teams from as far away as Canada and New England in the FIRST Finger Lakes Regional Robotic
Competition. The top qualifying teams will advance to the World Championship in Atlanta, Georgia, April 15-17.
IT'S EXCITING!
Go Team 3162!!! Woot!!!
